Rick Dangerous Review

First off can I just say sorry for the shit gameplay in this video. I really am a shambles in this game as it needs a bit of patients and a good memory on what to do at certain times. These 2 aspects of the game are what really beats me because I am not good at either.

Besides that Core Design did a good job on the game and if you do have patients and a good memory then you will get rewarded in the game. Like I said though this was developed by Core Designs and you could say this was more or less like a pre-Tomb Raider as it does feature a few trademarks like the devious traps and exploration to get further into the game.

You get a wicked title tune that will be burned into your brain for a few months and the sound effects are really good, especially when something dies.

Rick is equipped with a few things that you can activate by holding the fire button down and then a direction. Up is for the gun, down is for the dynamite and forward is the stun gun. I found using a controller for this game made it hard to climb down ladders and to generally move about. Once I swapped it to the analogue stick it was fine and I could do everything when I wanted it too. I would guess that using a proper joystick would be the same so remember not to use a controller on this one.

Not much else to say about this game except again I am sorry for my poor gameplay. May the Amiga gods strap me down and make me play Pit Fighter on the Atari ST for all eternity.
